My name is Ali Baghirov, and I am a piano performer and composer from Azerbaijan. I completed full 5-year education in piano major and graduated from the Central School of Arts named after Qara Qarayev in Baku city in 2020. In December 2017, I participated in the World Harmony Contest dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Central School. Later, I performed Azarashvili's "Nostalgia" (2018), Albeniz's "Malaguena" and Abdullayev's "Autumn" (2019) with chamber orchestra.
My works are written in modern classical style which also includes elements of national classical music of Azerbaijan. Although distinct from each other, all of my works contain a piano part and are overwhelmingly, though not exclusively, written for the piano solo.
The most successful publications were created during and after summer 2018 (Op.43, Op.44 and Op.45), in 2020 (Op.68, Op.69 and Op.70), and in 2022 (Op.79). Op.43 and Op.68 were transcribed for a symphonic orchestra by Ralf Kaiser.
My compositions may exhibit some influence of Chopin and Rachmaninoff, who enormously inspired many of my endeavors. I hope you enjoy what I publish!
